It is a genuine pleasure to thank Oliver for his exceptional course on project management as a business. Having spent a whole weeks evenings attending lectures on this subject, I can say without hesitation that these were among the most insightful and practically relevant I have experienced. They were remarkably close to perfect in terms of both delivery and substance.

Oliver’s extensive experience as a seasoned freelance project manager is impressive, but what sets him apart is his ability to translate that experience into lessons that truly resonate.

The course helps learners understand how to evaluate project value and make informed, data-driven decisions. It also strengthens communication with stakeholders by focusing on outcomes and business impact. Even with 10+ years of experience as a customer project manager, this training offered immense value. It perfectly captures the ‘situational’ nature of project business. Oliver F. Lehmann manages to balance the formal discipline of project management with the messy reality of cross-corporate contracts. If you work in a service-oriented organization, this is the certification you’ve been looking for. Highly recommended!

  4. Brian Aherro (verified owner)

I recently earned the PBP certification, and it has significantly changed how I view project management.

The course focuses on real-world business aspects like contracts, profitability, and client relationships—areas often overlooked in traditional certifications.

    I came in expecting a refresher. I left with a framework I didn’t know I was missing.
Oliver covers what most PM courses ignore why profitable projects still bankrupt contractors, how to handle customers who cause delays then threaten penalties, and how to manage across organizations with competing interests.
Dense, practical, and well-paced. The Trainer, Oliver knows this material from the inside, it shows in every example he uses. Genuinely useful for anyone managing projects under contract.

  9. Uzorchikwa Nwaoshai

Recently completed the PBP seminar led by Oliver F. Lehmann, and it genuinely shifted how I think about projects.
What stood out wasn’t just the content but the perspective.
Most project discussions focus on plans, tools, and delivery frameworks. This seminar goes deeper into the commercial and contractual realities that actually determine whether projects succeed or fail.
It challenges you to think about risk ownership, cash flow, and value creation across organisations, not just task execution.
The scenario-based approach makes it clear very quickly that in project business; decisions are rarely technical. They are contractual, financial, and strategic.
If you are working on or preparing for projects delivered under contract, I would strongly recommend this seminar. Traditional project management training often lacks the level of clarity that this seminar provides.
Thank you, Oliver, for putting together something that is both practical and thought-provoking.

Very intense learning comprising many topics very relevant in multi-tier construction projects, the environment where I am involved. The approach built on the privity of contracts, attention to cross-corporate communication, legal aspects is of particular importance in critical work conditions when a situation involving someone’s fault, is just round the corner, and responsibility limits should be very clear from the start.
    Highly recommended course and certification!

  22. Bob Grove (verified owner)

As a Sr. Project Manager with a background in Agile delivery and SaaS, I came into the PBP certification curious how it would expand my perspective. What I found was a framework that opened up an entirely new lens particularly around the contract-based dynamics of customer projects, an area I hadn’t deeply explored before.

Oliver’s approach is sharp, practical, and refreshingly direct. The emphasis on “Completing over Competing” reframed how I think about stakeholder relationships and project success. The material bridges theory and real-world application in a way that’s immediately useful.

Being part of the pilot cohort made the experience even more valuable — the engagement was high, and Oliver’s responsiveness throughout was exceptional. If you’re a project professional looking to sharpen your lens on project business, this certification delivers.

This makes the programme useful not only for those seeking certification, but also for practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of how organisations create and capture value through projects.

The course materials are thoughtfully designed and support learning effectively. I have just finished the PBP Qualification Live course, and I must say it has been one of the most valuable professional experiences I have had in recent years. If you work with external clients or suppliers, this training is exactly what you need.
Before this course, I thought my PMP certification was enough to handle any project situation. However, I soon realised that managing internal projects is completely different from managing cross-corporate ones. The PBP program opened my eyes to the commercial side of projects—something I had never studied in such depth before.
What makes this course special is Oliver Lehmann himself. He does not just present theories from books; he shares real stories from his long career and encourages everyone to think critically. I particularly enjoyed our discussions about risk allocation and contract negotiation. These are topics I deal with every week, but now I finally understand the “why” behind many business decisions.
The materials are excellent too. The Project Business Compendium is full of practical tools I can use immediately at work, and the practice questions during the course helped me feel confident before the final exam.
Another great aspect was learning alongside professionals from different countries and industries. We exchanged ideas about common problems, and I have already stayed in touch with several classmates.
Since completing the certification, I have started reading contracts much more carefully and using proper terminology when speaking with our sales team. My manager has noticed the difference, and I feel much more confident in client meetings.
Congratulations to Oliver for creating such a meaningful program! You have built something truly important for our profession. The Project Business Foundation is not just an organisation—it is a global community that is changing how we work across company borders. Thank you for your dedication and for sharing your expertise so generously.
I strongly recommend this course to any project professional who wants to move beyond task management and truly understand the business of projects.

  31. Chris Smith, MBA, PBP, NIGP-CPP, CPPB (verified owner)

I recently completed the Project Business Professional (PBP) Qualification and Certification course, and I can confidently say it has transformed the way I view projects, contracts, and cross organizational collaboration.

The PBP program goes far beyond traditional project management. It reframes projects as business ventures between organizations, where governance, risk allocation, financial performance, negotiation strategy, and long term value creation are central to success. The course bridges strategy, operations, finance, and leadership in a way that is practical, relevant, and immediately applicable.

Oliver F. Lehmann is an exceptional instructor. His depth of knowledge in project business, combined with real world experience, creates a learning environment that is both rigorous and engaging. He does not simply teach theory. He challenges participants to think critically about risk, cash flow, stakeholder dynamics, contractual frameworks, and the commercial realities that determine whether a project truly succeeds.

What stood out most was Oliver’s ability to connect complex concepts to practical business decisions. Discussions on liquidity risk, governance structures, contractor customer alignment, and inter organizational collaboration were especially valuable. The course materials are structured, comprehensive, and thoughtfully designed to reinforce long term professional growth.

The cohort experience was equally strong. Learning alongside global professionals from diverse industries enriched the dialogue and expanded perspectives. The program fosters not just certification, but community.

For professionals involved in project based business, contract management, procurement, consulting, engineering, or enterprise delivery, the PBP certification provides a powerful competitive advantage. It strengthens commercial awareness, negotiation readiness, and executive level thinking.

I highly recommend the PBP Qualification and Certification program to anyone who wants to move beyond managing tasks and toward leading project based business success.

Thank you, Oliver, for your leadership, integrity, and commitment to advancing the discipline of Project Business.

The Evolution of a Profession: From “Fault Zones” to Global Certification
For a long time, the space where different companies work together on a project was a “no man’s land” of conflict and risk. Oliver F. Lehmann had the unique vision to change this. He recognized that the commercial relationship between a customer and a contractor needed its own professional standards.

From nothing, he built the Project Business Foundation (PBF) and conceived the Project Business Professional (PBP) certification. What started as an idea is now a world-recognized standard that is transforming how we manage cross-corporate projects.

Why the PBP Certification and Foundation Matter
The PBP certification is not just a title; it is a new way of thinking. Here is why the PBF’s work is so important for our industry:

Defining the Project Business Field: Before the PBP, there was no clear path for professionals who manage the “interface” between organizations. The Foundation has created a structured body of knowledge that defines this discipline.

A Shared Language for Success: The PBP provides a common framework for both buyers and sellers. By using the same models—like the DIKA loop and Mission Success First—we can avoid the “Fault Zones” that destroy so many projects.

Global Recognition: The Foundation has brought this certification to a global level, ensuring that PBP holders are recognized as elite experts in contract management, procurement, and commercial communication.

    My Recommendation
I am honored to be a PBP credential holder. To my fellow PMP and PBA colleagues, I strongly recommend joining this community. The Project Business Foundation is not just an organization; it is a movement toward more professional, transparent, and successful project business worldwide.

Thank you, Oliver, for your dedication to our profession and for turning your vision into a global reality.

The PBP is recommended for everyone in the Project management space. Oliver is a wonderful teacher/ trainer who’s vastly experienced.

  37. Kostiantyn (verified owner)

The PBP course by Oliver Lehmann is one of the few programs that speaks the real language of cross-corporate project delivery. It’s often seen as contractor-oriented, and that is actually its greatest strength. The course distills long-established practices in contracting, procurement, risk allocation, and commercial decision-making into a clear, structured framework grounded in real cases.

For anyone working in client–contractor environments, this brings much-needed awareness, improves alignment, and supports best practices in managing business risk inside projects.

The curriculum is dense and demanding, but highly practical. It doesn’t introduce “new theories” — it organizes what already exists in the industry and makes it usable. Client-side professionals benefit just as much, because understanding how contractors think and operate reduces friction and strengthens coordination.

Oliver’s teaching style is rigorous, ethical, and deeply experienced. The course is a strong choice for those who want to elevate their competence in the commercial side of CAPEX and multi-party project delivery.

  38. Winston Henry

I am proud to have acquired the PBP certification and will share this experience with others.

Loved this course. Having done my PMP years ago and keeping it updated since then, this course was a refreshing switch to my real life experiences managing Projects in a cross-organisational/commercial model. Oliver was very knowledgeable and I found the time slew by on the course. The interspersing of multiple choice exam prep questions was great and helped consolidate the training material throughout the course. I’m actively recommending this course to colleagues.

I have obtained a new certification: Project Business Professional (PBP) from the Project Business Foundation after following a 2 days class by Oliver F. Lehmann, MSc, ACE, PMP. He is a great trainer!
Project Business Management (PBM) refers to managing projects that are a cross-corporate business. Money flows from customer to contractor(s) in exchange for deliverables flowing to customer. A cost centre for the customer and a profit centre for the contractor. PB is a high risk business, has major differences from internal projects and requires specific PM knowledge, skills & methods. PBM is a great extension of PMI. While PMI is more focussed on internal projects and the procurement side of involving suppliers, PBM brings the contractor as well as the buyer perspective.
I do recommend Oliver Lehmann’s PBP Qualification training!

The course bridges the critical gap between traditional project management and the commercial realities of project business—a topic often overlooked in other certifications.

Oliver provides clear, practical guidance on managing projects involving customers, vendors, and contracts. Well-structured, relevant, and immediately applicable.

Highly recommended for professionals seeking to lead with greater business insight and impact.

  67. Leila Allahham

I can’t recommend this training and certification enough to any project manager handling customer projects.

Most of the topics Oliver covers are things I had to learn through trial and error, simply because there’s no official training for project business.

I work for a small company, so I’m involved in many of the discussions that happen during business development.

One concept I took from this course is “constructive acceptance,” which I shared with our sales team. Twice so far, I’ve encountered situations where the customer began using the system before final acceptance and then delayed the final payments.

After taking this course, I started reading contracts more carefully and summarizing them for easier future reference. I also began using the correct language when discussing different stages of the sales cycle.

Another concept I’ve adopted is the implementation of “previty of contracts.” When my company is a subcontractor, I’ve become more alert to situations where the main contractor involves us in customer meetings and shifts blame onto us.

There’s so much to learn about project business, and this training is a great place to start.
